The Douglass Ridley School seeks an Enrichment & Afterschool Coordinator to design and lead its daily afternoon program. This position is responsible for two consecutive blocks each day: a 45-minute enrichment period and a two-hour, 15-minute afterschool block. The Coordinator will independently develop and deliver activities for both blocks, coordinate external partnerships, and determine the structure of the time within DRS's educational approach.


Reporting and Start Date
  • Reports to: Courtney Swartz, Head of School

  • Start date: September 8, 2026

  • Group size: approximately 4 students

Schedule
  • Monday through Friday, 2:30–5:30pm

  • 2:30–3:15pm: Enrichment

  • 3:15–5:30pm: Afterschool

  • 15 hours per week of direct programming time, plus 3 hours per week of paid preparation time

Compensation
  • $35/hour for direct programming time (15 hrs/week)

  • $15/hour for preparation time (3 hrs/week)

  • Approximately $570/week across 18 total hours

Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead enrichment activities for the 2:30–3:15pm block

  • Structure and lead the 3:15–5:30pm afterschool block, including outdoor time, snack, and a combination of structured and unstructured activities

  • Independently develop weekly activity plans

  • Communicate with families regarding pickup and daily logistics

  • Deliver programming consistent with DRS's educational approach, prioritizing hands-on investigation and real materials over prepackaged curricula

Candidates with a specific skill, hobby, or area of expertise they would like to teach are encouraged to apply. The small group size (approximately 4 students) allows for focused, in-depth programming built around the Coordinator's interests and strengths.
