What is Emergent Curriculum?
Emergent curriculum is a child-centered approach to learning that builds on the interests, questions, and experiences of the children themselves. Rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, it values curiosity as the starting point for meaningful exploration, allowing teachers to co-construct learning experiences alongside students. This dynamic and responsive approach fosters deeper engagement, creativity, and a genuine love of learning.
